Grant Thornton member firms operate today in a world in which businesses, regulators and the media are demanding greater choice among accountancy networks. Over the past four years, Grant Thornton member firms have won substantial new business as a result of opportunities presented by rapidly changing conditions. They have increasingly acquired work for larger more complex international clients. Indeed, the organisation holds the enviable record of four straight years of double digit growth - visible proof that member firms are reaping sustainable benefits from transformations in the wider global market.
Grant Thornton India, a member firm within Grant Thornton International joined the predecessor to the Grant Thornton organisation in 1971, long before our clients demanded international services. Our founders clearly had great foresight in investing in an international relationship almost three decades before international business became important to the Indian economy. After many years as a correspondent firm, we became a full member firm - and adopted the Grant Thornton brand - in 2001, Since then, we have grown from a firm with one office, two partners and 50 staff to seven offices, 30 partners and over 600 staff. In India we work with more than 100 of the largest 500 listed companies in the country and several other large and mid-sized privately held and multinational businesses.
We are delighted to enclose a copy of the Grant Thornton International annual review 2007 which offers a unique insight into the international organisation of which Grant Thornton India is a member firm.
Grant Thornton International started a major annual research survey into the attitudes and expectations of small and medium-sized businesses in 1992 called the European Business Survey (EBS). In 2003 the research project was widened to an international perspective covering medium-sized businesses and renamed the International Business Owners Survey (IBOS).
As the only survey of its type, the International Business Owners Survey (IBOS) is a study of the attitudes, plans and trends of over 7,000 medium-sized businesses in 32 economies worldwide. It is a valuable source of global business information, gauging opinions on the economic outlook and company expectations for the year ahead
